J Crafts

Hannah and I made 2 very cute paper crafts today.  We made a baby Jesus craft as well as some jelly fish.  Both were easy and fast and Hannah did them almost entirely on her own.  We did Baby Jesus sleeping in a manger "J".  It was originally a candy cane J but since it isn't Christmas season yet I went with a brown construction paper J.

Serious work for a little girl.

Hannah enjoyed gluing on the hay.

Admiring her own work.

Next up, we made muffin liner jelly fish.
I was so proud of Hannah for drawing the face all by herself.

A glue for the tentacles (or legs  as Hannah called them).

All  done, we did glue them to some blue paper for the water they swim in.

Sneak Peak of Halloween Costumes

Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf

Thankfully, Andrew took the kids to the mall this morning.  I don't think that I would have ever finished (Thank You Andrew).  But they are done yeah.  Poor Hannah cried when we took off her costume to have lunch.

Our New Pet

This is Gorge our new jelly fish.  Isn't he cute.  I saw this idea (for Making your Own Jellyfish in a Bottle)
months ago a KNEW Hannah would think it was great.  Check out the original post by a very creative lady, her pictures are amazing.  It was a little more finicky then I anticipated but we made it work.

Gorge (Hannah named him)

Ready to go.  (If you want to make one

Reading Together

Normally on Thursday morning the kids and I drive in with Andrew and go to bible study.  With the horrific traffic and bridge construction it can take an hour to get there.  Bible study is first thing in the morning consequently we get up quite early.  It didn't happen this morning.

Ethan popped a tooth out last night.  To say he is a bad teether is a gross understatement.  He is 16 months and has only 6 real teeth, and two very tiny specks poked through else where in his mouth. At this rate he will be well into his teens before all his baby teeth are in.  We were up late and for a long time.  So this morning we stayed in and mommy tried to stay awake.  Ethan seemed to have loads of energy.  Isn't that always the way?

We had a very relaxing morning reading.  (These pictures weren't taken this morning but they very well could have since the scene was the same.)

Jello Stickers

I was hesitant to do this project.  Thoughts of sticky fingers, faces, papers, the table, and the floor bombarded me.  I hate sticky messes.  In the end, there was almost no mess and very little stickiness other than on Hannah's fingers.  What are jello stickers?  It is like a homemade lick and stick sticker.  You take a printed item, (in our case of sheet of jelly beans, and some other colored paper) and brush some liquid jello on the back.  Once it dries you can cut up your paper into stickers.

The sticker glue is 1 Tablespoon jello to 2 Tablespoons boiling water.
Mix it well and then let it  cool a bit.  I found this here).

Hannah worked carefully to cover her entire sheet with jello glue.

Ethan painted his paper with water.

After Hannah finished her jelly bean sheet she painted a few more plain  sheets to use of the rest of the jello.
I will use these sheets to cut out shapes for her.

When we were finished "painting", I put each wet paper on a piece of paper towel.
Hannah's sheets were quite saturated.

Hannah happily licked her lime stickers.

She made a picture with her jelly bean stickers.

I cut up some of the orange because she needed more.

Surprisingly, the sticker sheets dried without staying tacky.  I distracted Ethan while Hannah licked her stickers, I'm normally trying to keep him from eating paper. Hehehe I didn't think would understand.

Pumpkin Patch

This morning, we along with some friends of ours went to a farm to go to the pumpkin patch.  Ironically, we spent the least amount of time in the pumpkin patch then we did everywhere else.
Hannah was very excited this morning when I told her she would get to see Moses.
They are beyond adorable together.

First, we went to the petting zoo area and saw chickens, bunnies, goats, pigs and even a donkey.

Farmer Ethan.
The bunnies were very cute.

Next up was the play area.  Ethan rode a pony.

Hannah found a tractor.
We walked around and came to a fun area with more tractors to ride on.

Ethan enjoyed pushing Hannah around.

Andrew got himself tied up in knots.

You can't go to the pumpkin patch without taking a few pumpkin pictures.

Of course Ethan wanted a huge one.

Hannah thinks if it's small it's cute.

Last we walked through the corn maze.

Looking at a caterpillar.

Walking on the path is not nearly as fun as walking through the corn stalks.

Unfortunately, we had to end things short because Hannah got stuck in the mud and fell.  Poor girl hates having dirty hands.  The mud was even in her hair.
